                                      Chapter Forty-One

                                  We’re Engaged-Part Two

“Love all love of other sights controls,

And makes one little room an everywhere.”

John Donne, “The Good Morrow”

Because You Loved Me

As sung by Celine Dion

For all those times you stood by me

For all the truths that you made me see

For all the joy you brought to my life

For all the wrong that you made right

For every dream you made come true

For all the love I found in you

I’ll be forever thankful baby

You’re the one who held me up

Never let me fall

You’re the one who saw me through it all

You were my strength when I was weak

You were my voice when I couldn’t speak

You were my eyes when I couldn’t see

You saw the best there was in me

Lifted me up when I couldn’t reach

You gave me faith ‘coz you believed

I’m everything I am

Because you loved me

You gave me wings and made me fly

You touched my hand I could touch the sky

I lost my faith, you gave it back to me

You said no star was out of reach

You stood by me and I stood tall

I had your love I had it all

I’m grateful for each day you gave me

Maybe I don’t know this much is true

I was blessed because I was loved by you

You were my strength when I was weak

You were my voice when I couldn’t speak

You were my eyes when I couldn’t see

You saw the best there was in me

Lifted me up when I couldn’t reach

You gave me faith ‘coz you believed

I’m everything I am

Because you loved me

I received an email from a friend after last month’s chapter that read, “What???!!!”  It was then that I realized that I had failed to mention that JD’s case is on appeal, and I intend to see that he wins his freedom.

Find Out Who Your Friends Are

As sung by Lawrence Tracy

Run your car off the side of the road

Get stuck in a ditch way out in the middle of nowhere

Or get yourself in a bind lose the shirt off your back

Need a floor, need a couch, need a bus fare

This is where the rubber meets the road

This is where the cream is gonna rise

This is what you really didn’t know

This is where the truth don’t lie

(Chorus)

You find out who your friends are

Somebody’s gonna drop everything

Run out and crank up their car

Hit the gas, get there fast

Never stop to think ‘what’s in it for me?’  or ‘it’s way too far’

They just show on up with their big old heart

You find out who your friends are

Everybody wants to slap your back

wants to shake your hand

when you’re on top of that mountain

But let one of those rocks give way then you slide back down look up and see who’s around then

This ain’t where the road comes to an end

This ain’t where the bandwagon stops

This is just one of those times when

Alot of folks jump off

(Chorus)

When the water’s high

When the weather’s not so fair

When the well runs dry

Who’s gonna be there?

(Chorus)

You find out who your friends are

(yeah, yeah)

You find out who your friends are

Run your car off the side of the road

Get stuck in a ditch way out in the middle of nowhere

(Well man, I’ve been there)

Or get yourself in a bind lose the shirt off your back

Need a floor, need a couch, need a bus fare

(Man, I’ve been there)

Man I’ve been there

Oooh yeah.

“Let me not to the marriage of true minds

Admit impediments.  Love is not love

Which alters when it alteration finds

Or bends with the remover to remove.

O, no!  it is an ever-fixed mark

That looks on tempests and is never shaken…”

Shakespeare, Sonnet 116
